Beauty in every form

I was doing some internet research about intuitive eating and each time I stumble upon the most amazing things. For every 10 websites dedicated to dieting, getting thin and fit, there is one website that celebrates people (mostly women) just as they ARE in this moment. Because really, even if you DO want to lose some weight, you can still be truly, madly, deeply in love with yourself, right where you are NOW in the process.

I came across Mozaik Courbes: Curves which boasts the title: Feel Great About Your Curves. Here, here!

People can submit self-portraits, in all their naked glory, with the word “curves” written on themselves. This website is a compilation of those images. The effect is beautiful and quite shocking at times: women of literally EVERY shape and size, enjoying and proudly showing off their body.

How does it feel to view a woman– in which society deems her too fat, too thin, too big-breasted, too flat chested, too lumpy, too bumpy, too “too”–enjoying her body? Is it uncomfortable? Exciting? Wish that was you?

What comes up for you when you view these images?

WOW! I’ve never seen anything like that before! It is tastefully done, and it was great to see a lot of ‘plus-size’ women feeling comfortable in their own skin. I wear a size 18, and I don’t think I ever really look at myself… that is my approach for not being too critical of myself. It would be great to have the courage to take it to the next step and to really ‘see’ myself, all of myself, through a loving lens.

Thanks for your comment, Linda. We are all beautiful, in every shape or form. Check out this link to see examples of women reveling in their size. These photos were taken by Leonard Nemoy–of Star Trek Fame!
